I was born on the day that Robert Kennedy was assassinated.  My mother was in a taxi on her way to the hospital when she heard the devastating news.  I was not born state side but instead on the other side of the pond so to say. My mother gave birth to me in the city that boasts the largest harbor in Europe and was the busiest harbor in the world from 1962 through 2004 before it was surpassed by Shanghai, China.   Can you figure out what city I am speaking of without googling it?  I was brought up in an entrepreneurial family that traveled for business and pleasure all over the world.  I speak three languages; one very well, one with the occasional search for words and mistakes  and one pretty brokenly but enough to get by.  I have two red-headed children and a red-headed husband so life is most definitely spirited at home.  My daughter is the namesake of my company and also the inspiration behind the cartoon Samantha Grace.  My son has spent his life wondering when his company is going to be set up – patience, my darling! We live in the South and enjoy everything that the South has to offer in spirit, history, culinary talents, geography and personalities.  I hope to achieve something extra by blogging and by that I mean a feeling of completion and closure by giving an explanation to my creations.  I enjoy the creating part of my business most although lately I have really thrown myself into the marketing side of it and have enjoyed that tremendously as well.  But… my first love is designing and in this blog I would like to talk about the why’s and the how’s of product development.  Plus and probably even more importantly, how certain small things can improve your life and beautify your surroundings.
